How bad is the switching tires on one set of rim every year?

Hey folks,
I searched and read all threads but couldnt find these issues.
I am going to get set of winter tire but want to use current rims. Is it bad switching them 2 times a year (beginning of the summer/winter) because of tires are going to be stretch.
Also can I put 245/40 on rear rim?(hard to find 275/35) Are the rear rims wider?

Thanx..

Switching them 2x per year is fine if you have someone who knows what they are doing. Most likely you need to be comfortable with some scratches around the outside of your rim and slightly out of balance wheels.

As for 245's on the rear rims, then answer is No.

If you are going to run 245/40's, purchase a second set of front wheels for this purpose and put them on the rear of the car.

Your 2x tire dismounting and mounting cost will soon pay for itself in a set of winter rims that could be sold later. So +1 on getting a set of winter rims since those tend to get beat up more than summer rims.

Pick up a set of front rim under the for sale section. They are always available...

at roughly $80 per visit to swap tires, its not worth it at all.

you are better off picking up a dedicated set of 17's for the winter and running those. there are lenty of styl 66 w/ tires floating around for 5-600.
