Wheel bearing bad??

Lately, I have been getting a low speed "rubbing" type feeling in the steering wheel. I noticed the RF wheel rotor rubs a little more when I spin the wheel after driving. I removed the caliper so I could spin the rotor freely. There is a slight rubbing type sound coming from the center hub. Is it normal to have some noise from the bearing or is it gone bad. I haven't check the other side yet to compare the noise level. I also suspect maybe its going bad because I have had a lot of tire defect messages. Any thoughts

Noisy bearing + tyre defect messages.. Just what I had.

New bearing sorted it. Not a big repair..

Is it normal to have a bearing go bad at 50K miles? Did you have the slow speed rubbing type vibration as well? I'm guessing there should be no noise coming from the center hub when it spinning. I'm sure it's magnified when the weight of the car is on the wheel as well. Is it a DIY job to changes the bearing?

my front one went at 57k but i think that was due to the dodgey garage who fitted new front disks.
My wheel made a ticking noise rather than a rubbing noise.

FWIW I had Chris at BMS listen to my wheel bearings a few days ago - he used a stethoscope and found one "grumbling" wheel bearing on my car (with 95k miles). I'll replace both when my Dinan BBK goes on shortly.
