$9K E39 M5?

I know the market for these has fallen completely on its face, but this seems pretty low, even for the issues it has.

What do you guys think?

wow, possibly a great deal that's a little less than what I piad for mine with 80k more.

Maybe he got a 8-10k estimate from the stealership.

My guess is a heft repair bill awaits the new owner.

Confirm what the dealer has found and make the decision from there. Vanos is going to set you back at least $4000 if it is both sides.. Now you have a $13k car.

"There are some electrical issues with sensors".

That's pretty vague description also.

Could still be cheap buy (even with the Vanos stuff), depending on what the electrical issues are and what the dealer diagnosis is.

I'd be ready for a rough car, worn interior, plenty of dings, curb rash, an illuminated SES light, and a lot repairs to get everything in good order and appearance.

Bring a code reader. Who knows, maybe the dealer just told the owner "new VANOS" whereas all it needed was a new CPS or solenoid. Also, that listing is pretty old, I wonder how much it ended up selling for.

Holy cow that is the cheapest I've ever seen and will ever see. It does not look bad in the pics, but wow he must have gotten a $10k+ repair bill from that dealer.

I believe you could easily recover your money parting it out. Many of these cars can fetch as much or more parted out than whole...just takes some time. Heck, you could insure it an burn it down and get more from the insurance co.

Yeh, I know...blasphemy!! (and damn illegal)
