Sorry if the tone of my post was misleading. I was happy with the job he did on my ’97 528 with 80k miles. The car had not been detailed in about a year and was filthy. He spent about 4.5 hrs on the car and it really looked good, both inside and out. I’m sure If I wanted perfection and asked for it I could have gotten it. What the price would be (8-12 hrs?) I’m not sure. I do know he will take it as far as you want, pull all the wheels, do all the wheel wells and complete engine cleaning. As this was my first experience with him, I was more looking to just get the car cleaned up before I sold it as well as see if he was someone I wanted to use once the Beast arrived.

Also, post a message for Dave on the bimmer.org E39 board. He hangs out there a lot as well.

His guy is supposed to be very good and often does work out of Dave's garage. If you can set it up and are interested Dave might be able to help with a big brake install at the same time...

I don't know Dave personally, but he's been a big supporter of the 5 series community with CDV removal clinics (a 528/530/540 thing), brake clinics, Nav upgrade clinics. I would have complete faith in anyone he recommends.

Boy are you in the right place! The best detailer in the country happens to live and work in northern NJ. The guy is a fanatic with a touch of obsessive compulsive behavior. It's the perfect profession for someone like that. He's simply amazing. He'll spend from 10 to 12 hours working on the paint and the result is to die for. He's well known in the BMW community and there are folks with million dollar car collections who put him up at their guest house and have him work on their special vehicles.

His name is Erich Lipinski. He's at e.lipinski@worldnet.att.net and is available on weekends and school holidays. That's because his day job is a music teacher in the Newark school system.

I've been letting him use my heated garage lately so that he could do a bunch of jobs while it was really cold around Christmas. It's fun to check out the progress from time to time and learn a tip or two from the master.

Can't help with NJ, but if I can recommend Steve's detailing on West 27th Street in Manhattan. I've been going to Abie for 15 years, beginning with my 911SC - he does good work.

DZeckhausen, just out of curiosity how much would it cost for him to do one of our M5s? Are we talking a coupel $100 or somewhere between 100-200? Thanks!

I think Eric is charging folks about $300. You'll have to check with him for an exact price. It could be slightly more or slightly less, but I think I'm close.
