          Vanos accumulator install

Has anyone installed the accumulator themselves? I understand for my build year (12/99) I need to do the electrical wiring for the value and have the dealer turn it on in the main computer. How difficult was the job? Is air a concern in the lines? How long did you let the car sit before messing with the oil lines? Also, can anyone provide the "pin out" of the accumulator? What color wires go where on the clip to the accumulator itself. If anyone know, is it possible to buy just the wire harness for the accumulator? It seems that online parts dealer have it as a whole set...

I haven't done a search, but I don't think I've ever come across a thread on a DYI accumulator install. I think the vast majority of early MY cars had the accumulator dealer-installed at no cost. If you have not already done so, might want to double check that you don't already have one..

I did a search and found where someone did talk as if they did install it themselves, but it's a very old old thread. I did check and unfortunately mine didn't get the upgrade and has that characteristic rattle upon start up. I don't mind working on my own car and I'm sure I'll be able to do it, just having a few questions before I start. Mainly the wiring " pinout" since it's sold as a complete set. I bought a used accumulator... Any insight would be appreicated.

Can anyone look at their accumulator wiring at the plug and tell me which side is brown and which is red/violet?
