Cheap complete VANOS units on eBay

          no affiliation.

Just saw these browsing eBay. I search it regularly just to see what I see...ya know? I don't think I've seen two "fresh" VANOS' like this up there before so it prompted me to post this.

Anyway I've been seeing this sellers name since I bought my M. I think s/he just parts out M5's.

IMHO for what they might be acquired for these just might be a great find for someone w/ a real VANOS issue. I mean the solenoid alone is ~$400 right?

They are from an 03 w/ 48k miles according to seller.

eBay Motors: BMW E39 M5 VANOS CYL. 1-4 RIGHT HAND SIDE REAL OEM (item 330277738152 end time Oct-16-08 07:36:07 PDT)

eBay Motors: BMW E39 M5 VANOS CYL. 5-8 LEFT HAND SIDE REAL OEM (item 330277737849 end time Oct-16-08 07:34:19 PDT)

          Hope this helps someone!

This ebay seller has a lot of parts from different MY M5's, is it normal to see used parts at those prices? (I'm not a part shopper)

I had never seen a vanos before, I thought it was a larger piece of equipment! Neat, but why is it listed under:
