some off us had a mature debate on the fact i stated cps sensors worsen by age..
there where believers and non believers. so i suggested i didn't mention it anymore as a sure thing so i would not mislead people in changing all the cps'ses..they aren't cheap to replace, so thats why i dont say its that for sure..but i can guess /suggest offcourse.
now i will tell you what i experienced some time ago, maybe you can see some symptoms you have..
my car had some hesitations when i pressed the gaspedal. it was a feeling like i overfueled the car for a half second.
press the pedal, almost no torque for a half sec, and then the needle rised like it schould
this occured only at low rpm and under 2500 rpm.once over that it was all fine when you pressed the pedal.
i suspected the car too overfuel so i began a search on timing..what controls timing? cps sensors . mine is a 99 model so after 9 years i changed them as a maintenance thing just for the sake off it.no codes to be found for anything at that time..not even a misfire code..
also what i noticed was some popping (backfireing sound when you shift down a gear)from to mutch unburned gas/fuel in the exhaust. thats why i suspected to mutch fuel/ bad timing in the first place.
after the replacement it was fine and more explosive again for driving..
the power was back in all areas.gained 7hp and some torque also on a dyno bench . i wanted to prove my point by numbers but the non- believers took it as not trustworthy proof due to dyno's numbers can vary. i agree with that argument.so that ended the debate on my side.
so for me it was the solution..
like a stated before, take it as a suggestion, no cure, because i can't prove it on paper.
