Is this true?

1. Push & hold the ASC+T/DSC button (for approx 10 seconds)...the instrument cluster light will illuminate...THEN...will go off.

2., When the light goes back off...you are in a half-on/half-off mode...where the brakes will still be applied to a wheel that has lost traction...but the engine throttle reduction part of ASC+T/DSC is off.

once this mode has been activated...the only way to deactivate it is to turn the engine off...the next start-up will put the system back in default mode (ASC+T/DSC on).

1) This mode does exist and it is found like you said by holding the DSC button for about ten seconds.

2) Last time it was discussed there was some disagreement on exactly how it differs from normal DSC on mode. I've tried it a few times in the wet and deliberately lost traction to see how it performs. It felt to me like power was still being cut rather than just brake application and the engine note softened like it was not maintaining full power. It did seem to cut the power a little less viscously though, and the system seemed to return power to me faster than with normal DSC on. Still no chance of getting the back end out powering out of a corner like you can with the 'race' mode on the TC of new Ferraris and the like, but it did seem a bit less intrusive.

IIRC, we sort of came to the conclusion that it doesn't do anything? I believe that it was never programmed into our ECU?

I may be wrong, but that is my recollection.
