Vibration under acceleration

Well after some much spirited driving witht the dsc light off, my car started vibrating a little under acceleration.

I am thinking it's the center bearing for the driveshaft???

If so, where can/should I get one?

Also could it be something else?

Any other maintenance items that will be easier to access while it's all apart?

before you condem the center bearing did you ck the flex disk between the transmisson and driveshaft. Also is the vibration coming from the rear half of the tunnel or is it up by the shifter?

It's hard to say where the vibration comes from. I would saly from the backseat area.

I have a bit of a vibration under acceleration in high gears at low revs. I guess it's the prop donut, but then I'd not heard of this flex disc between transmission and driveshaft. At some point I plan on acquiring a new clutch (slips a little sometimes) and I'll see what else is knackered around there as I strip it all down.

The guibo is a common failure item.

Could be the center-line bearing, however like others have suggested the flex-disc/ Guibo is a more common failure...

Yeah I'm going to replace both of them. Is there a guibo on the rear diff? And where can I buy these parts online?

Is pelicanparts.com any good as far as pricing goes?

They want 120 for the guibo and 85 for center support bearing (both OEM bmw parts)

I have a vibration as well...although I would call it a little more of a bounce that I feel when under acceleration. I I put it in 6th at say 35-40 and stomp on it...it is worse and I even got a small smack. I had the exhaust off this weekend...sure enough cracks in the guibo. Got one on its way.

I bought my center driveshaft bearing along with the guibo and the transmission mounts and a new clutch as well.

Do I need a press to replace the center bearing ? How does it come off ?

Get it on the lift and have someone underneath it and have someone run it. You'll see the issue very quickly.

Until then, you're just speculating.
