Anyone installed Dinan Front Strut Brace? My brace is in UPS truck and it should be here by Wed. I'm wondering is it difficult to install the brace or is this something I can do this in the comfort of home?

Thanks in advance...

PS. Still undecided on Dinan Suspensions....

Installing the front strut brace is straight forward, and shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes. That is of course, unless you have two left hands like me, drop some nuts in the engine bay, and need 40 minutes to jack up the car and remove the bottom panel to get them back :)

RareM5,

It really is a piece of cake to install the front bar. Biggest PIA for me was having to remove the two black boxes that contain the air filters for the climate control system. One of the three nuts that you need to gain access to is blocked by the boxes and since I don't have every Snap-On tool known to man, this was my only choice. All in all still pretty easy. Just follow the instructions that Dinan provides.

Next project for me will be the rear which looks to be a chore...

I had the dealership do it!!! I got the brace from them and they put the car on the lift, thus equalizing the whatever uneven stresses may have been present on the suspension, took off the nuts, put the brace on, put nuts back on, and lowered the car back down. Took about 20 minutes with me jawing to the tech!!(That was good for at least 5 minutes) And, yes, some dealerships will let you in the back to watch.

Brace made a difference on the track. I took it off this car to put back on the next one. The "Boss" doesn't think she needs a brace. I agreed.

My suggestion would be to park the car in the garage which is pretty flat compared with most other surfaces out there. This would be only if you do it yourself. Keep your doors closed too. My local bmw shop even offered to do it for free. That's how easy it is. Just need the proper tools. I ended up doing it myself when I realized how easy it was. Just need the right type of tools to do the job. Just carefully undo the bolts on the strut tower (3 bolts) and then put the brace into place. Be sure to slide it under the protruding section on the far end carefully though. That's the black boxes that Diamond Dave was talking about. Once you get it on, put the bolts back on and then undo the nuts on either side to properly align the actual brace before tightening things down. That's it! Took me 20 minutes! :D
