Need help with sat nav computer

Hi,

When i bought my car there was no sat nav cd in it so i decided to get the latest software upgrade and map disc.However when i insert the disc it just gets spat out after a few seconds and the screen in-car say no cd inserted allt he time.Is my drive fried? any ideas guys.Its a mk3 system

you mention software upgrade... did you burn the software disc yourself, did the upgrade process go smoothly?
Any chance you can borrow someone else's nav cd and see if it works in your nav?
Just make sure as well that you didn't buy a map DVD, instead of CD.
