I get down to Stamford, CT on occasion - have BSW stage 1 - rainbow line and the BSW 10 inch sub - I did not have M-Audio to begin with , so this was a great upgrade.

my friend .............

if you intend on changing the car speakers, do yourself a BIG favor and skip that idea, and simply go with MB QUART speakers. I did this back in 2003 and the car audio rocks !!! Any questions touch base with me.

M Audio ??

I've seen references to "M Audio", but I'm not sure what that is. Don't all of our M cars have M audio? If not, what's the difference?

There's M Audio and DSP. M Audio has 2 big subwoofers in the back (you should be able to see 2 big magnet sticking out from the "roof" of your trunk.

bmw5351s,

I'm on the opposite side of the country from you. I got the stage one upgrade as well. At the time we had the choice between Rainbow & MB Quart. I think I went with the Rainbow. The sound is much more crisp than stock. Now that I'm used to the speakers, I can't remember what the stock ones sound like.

I'm sure there are members in the Northeast area that may help you out or you guys can meet somewhere in the middle.

Bob

The M-Audio mounts the drivers in different locations(IE Tweeter mounted over the midbass) and they are not the same drivers as the DSP. You also get larger subwoofers.

A stage 1 in your car would definitely be a great improvement. We are also about to release a slim mount, all in one(plate amp) d110.e39 subwoofer system which will be a huge improvement and take up even less space than before!
