Hi, my first post on here. I have owned my car since February, a Le Mans Blue, 2001 model. In May I took the car on it's first trip to the Nürburgring, I thought I'd start by posting a report from that trip:
Superb weather and some fast motoring in the Eifel mountains, what could be better.
My first impression of the M5 on track was that the car is heavy and quite difficult to stop but the 400bhp is kind of useful on the uphill and power sections
As I said, the weather was really hot, too hot for some it would appear!!
Meanwhile, it was just like old school DTM all over again
E30 M3 Touring? Well, not quite, it sounded like a 6 cylinder to me, an interesting car though.

Check out the fuel filler set up.
A rare Golf Rallye, only 5000 of these were built.
A green CSL! Not really, this is just a wrap which will eventualy peel off to reveal (hopefully) pristine paintwork.
The cream of Italian superbikes - Benelli, Aprilia, MV Augusta, Ducati and er Suzuki!
The owner of this Z3 had gone with a rather unique colour scheme.
This Nissan GT-R was there over the weekend, one of the first UK registered versions, it must have been privately imported from Japan as no official UK cars arrived yet. I guess the person who took this photo was thinking he was getting an exclusive shot of the GT-R, he inadvertently snapped the Ring Taxi in the background, cool photo.
RNGTOY - A member on here also?
This Porsche Boxter set on fire in the car park, it was fairly minor, I think the fire crew made more mess of the car than the fire!
Ford Capri RS
This Audi S2 had made the trip down from Norway, it runs around 450bhp and the owner shares a workshop with the well known Gatebil green Audi 80 - See here:

The guy who builds these powerful 5 cylinder engines is actually blind. I asked the S2 owner if he runs it at Gatebil, he said "No, this is just a normal road car"
There is a path that goes right round the outside of the Nordschleife, it is popular with walkers, mountainbikers and it would appear motorcyclists. As you can see, it occasionally gets broken up with villages, bridges etc. which means sometimes getting back on the path means scaling such obstacles as steps - Dougie Lampkin, eat your heart out :-)
It was holiday weekend in Germany, so the track was fairly busy at times
