Official USA sight lists "SATIN" chrome wheels for 2001 M5!!!

I was just on the BMW USA web sight... They FINALLY updated the M5 listing to reflect the 2001 model. They no longer list the wheels as Shadow Chrome (under "standard and optional equipment"). The wheels are now "SATIN chrome" (much like the ones seen at the Paris auto show). Could it be that the first few 2001 shipped to the U.S. (the ones that claim to have the Shadow Chrome wheels still on them) were produced too early to get the new wheels? Is this a "Euro" only wheel? Anybody know the deal here?

Here is the link to the Satin Chrome listing:
          http://www.bmwusa.com/start.cfm?top=...ge=m%2Fm.shtml

However it is easy to find under the www.BMWusa.com go to M5, then go to "standard and optional equipment". The wheels are listed under the "Exterior" heading.

Or is it (more likely) marketing mumbo-jumbo? Like they now call the Exclusiv interior the Luxury interior.

I would say it is mumbo jumbo. If you take the wheels off a 2000 M5 and put them under real bright lights and take a picture then they will also look real bright like the ones from the Paris auto show.

Just picked up my 2001 M5 yesterday. The wheels are the same "satin or shadow chrome".
I do have a slight issue with my back wheels though...the back wheels are obviously from a different production lot because they are a lighter grey than the front wheels. The dealer has ordered replacements. So far the 2001 is fabulous.
