Will E60 headrests fit E39?

Sitting in a 2008 M5 recently, I immediately noticed how much better the new style two piece headrest felt. I've never liked the way the e39 head rest fits flush with the seat and has to be tilted forward to be in a position that actually fits the driver. The newer style sticks forward more and is adjustable (not to mention the nice M5 emblem on it). Has anyone checked to see if the new style will fit the openings on the e39 cars?

Measure the E39 headrest posts to see how thick and how far apart they are. Then ask someone from the E60 board to do the same?

Ok, I'll go that route. I guess the other measurement I need to confirm is the diameter of the metal support bars.

Good information. Thanks. I noticed the ribs on the e39 as well may be a problem.

whats the point? the e39 m5 headrests look kickass espeically slumped forward, comapired to the e60 that are stationary, you cant slant e60s forward or backward, plus it looks like something out of plain luxury car imo...

the only thing i would take out of the e60 if i could would probably only be the navi system.
