Monster project. 540 to D/A M5 conversion....

Not sure if any of you have seen this yet. Pretty crazy conversion.. complete with wide body and all. Sick how they even replaced the trunk floor with an M5 trunk floor. Pretty cool.

i cant seem to understand why someone would go through all that when you can buy an m5 and throw those mods on there.

My intention was to just do the SC project. After discussing the project with Shadowman, what I really wanted was an engine like PhillyM5. The engine lead to the exhaust and so on and so on. I started with many mods that I thought I could keep. Soon she will be every bit an M5...and more. D/A (Shadowman) has been more than expert. He only does things one way...perfection or not at all.

I could have started with an M5, but the end result will be the same. All these same mods would have also been done to the M5 except the trunk floor. Once the evolution process started, there was no turning back.

At such an extreme level of modification & revamp, it doesn't matter much if the car begins as a 540i, M5...or even a 525i. The 6 to V8 K-member and steering retrofit wouldn't stop that team lol.

The detail and workmanship is incredible. It's clear that Discovery has documented and exploited the E39 cars inside and out. Also good to see a rare E39 engine swap. About 95% of the tech experience gained on this project applies to M5. Thank goodness somebody took the time to take pics for us.

What size are those rear wheels please? And what offset they are?

I like that CF interior trim shown here :

I don't understand how they had widened the rear bumper "we also massaged her rear bumper so that once in place it will appear as if OEM rather than simply using some sort of add on wings or ??"

I mean, I don't understand how did they do that? Heating the bumper with something or ???

Anyway I like those fender flares and the rear bumper. Also I like the side skirts.

PLEASE UPLOAD HERE SOME MORE HIGH RESOLUTION PICTURES!
