Question about the sport button

I know that the button engage a stiffer steering and a quicker throttle respons but does it also stiffen up the clutch?
Every time I press the S-button it feels like I also have to press hard when using the clutch. Am I imagening this or does it actualy get stiffer? Have not found any info on this when I have search the forum.

No, it does not affect the clutch. You already mentioned the only two effects (other than driving too fast ) that the sport mode changes.

You are right, I was TRYING to be funny:p WOT is WOT, although I would venture to guess that the more responsive throttle (less actuation of the accelerator, causes relatively more throttle "opening") encourages more "jack rabbit" starts from each stop...just encouraging more rapid acceleration, if only caused by changing the driver's habits

Stiffer steering?
In E60 M5 yes, but not sure it was available in late 90's...
No suspension stiffening and no clutch transformation either.

Yes, steering gets stiffer. Try doing a slight bit of slalom and then turn sport mode on.

It gets stiffer because it lessens the power assist on the steering to give you better feel for the road. Another effect is it causes you to turn off DSC and create a lot of smoke!

Is there any harm to the engine if sport mode is engaged all the time? What would be the downside beside the speeding tickets?
