time for another new cluster? not pixels
OK, the IC may be on its way out, although I have not seen this problem before.
On the display below the mileage, I normally have the time displayed. Now, the right hand side of the lower cluster remains bright, but the left side, and the upper side, showing mileage, remains darker, as if the headlights were on and brightness is being dimmed to compensate. It does not matter what I have displayed on the lower cluster.
So, it is NOT a pixel issue, but it seems related to the switching between lights on and off. Is there a relay that switches to nightime brightness?
Or do I need to contact BMW NA and hope for some goodwill?
