Corvette ZR1 vs Nissan GTR V-Spec

If your a car guy, which I hope everyone on here is, then you are aware of the battle brewing between these two. After rumors began to circulate that the GTR V Spec did it in 7:25 and change (unofficial) this battle is off to a great start. See below:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Z...8&v=2413b42590

If I was a betting man I would put $100 on Nissan releasing an official video that shows the V Spec lapping fractions of a second faster than the ZR1. No matter what side your on, this is awesome for the car community.

Sorry mods, I'm sure this will be moved...

If you go to Garage 419...they did an overlayed video of the ZR1 & the GT-R at the Ring...VERY interesting....the ZR1 was quicker....

By no means am I to say that the ZR1 driver screwed up in a few areas...but trying to climb a hill in 4th at 3600 rpm for a few seconds...and I saw the tach fall as low as 3100 rpm.

Credit to GM for stating specs including pump gas, ride height, tire spec. and other or rather lack of mods. ZR-1 > GT-R to me although I definately wouldn't mind owning one. I just wish Nissan also listed the 7:29 car's configuration before or even after posting the video.

Traffic shouldnt be a problem... when manufacturers/ race teams do time attacks they rent out the whole course so they are all alone. Agreed that there are alot of variables though... the Corvette community has been screaming foul on the GTR times from day 1.

+1...at the Ring especially.....driving the course a few times...10..20..30 times is pale in comparision to someone like a Sabine who does it on a daily basis....would be interesting to see her drive both cars there and see what see comes up with...as an aside...I like the idea of having the Ring as the benchmark for sports cars....many if not all manu's claim these cars were either born on or bred for the track...so why not prove it at THE track??...

Do you really need 13 miles to provide a valid benchmark?
