Tire sizing
Looking for "snows". First I looked at Michelin and TireRack to find some specs. Overall diameter with stock Michelin Pilot Sports is 25.8 front (245/40-18) and 25.7 rear (275/35-18). Snow tires I'm looking at in recommended size 235/45-17 on 8" rims run anywhere from 25.4 (Nokian NRW) to 25.7 (Michelin Pilot Alpin) and in between. I'm interested in the Nokian but they are the largest difference. How much of an overall diameter difference from stock setup will cause problems (e.g. speedo, odo, sensors, etc)?

you're looking at a 1 percent change in speedometer and odo, no change to any sensors (re-calibrate the tire warning when you put them on as the warning works off of tire diameter) -- in short, you and the car won't know the difference

Thanks. That's what I thought but wanted to verify it. BTW, when I set tire pressure warning, I held the button in (with key in position 2) and it popped up the 'set tire pressure' message. After I drove off I didn't pay much attention. Does it also pop up a message saying that it was sucessful or calibrated correctly?
