As there seems to be many opinions obout the new M5 coming out in a few more years, l would like to know when the final run of the E39 M5 will be.
I love the current styling and if the new one's not got as much appeal to me l think l would go for one of the last runs.

Everyone is saying 03' but that can't be confirmed unless there is something official from BMW

It will all depend on when they introduce the new Model 5 Series. Once this is introduced all the old body style will be discontinued as the factory will not want to produce both.

Its my understanding that the new 5 series will be a 2003 model. If that is so, 2002 is probably the last year for this model M5.

How will the new M5 come out in 03' and the shape of the 5 series has changed yet ????? Give the M5 a year or 2 after the 5 is replaced

Personally I feel the current model is perfect. However I doubt BMW will continue to built last year's body after they start the new body.

If someone is planning for an E39 M5, 2002 is probably the last model year.

Back in 1992 BMW manufactured the E 36 but the convertible E 30 was produced until that same year.

My understanding is that the E 39 style will change on 2003 and probably it will also be the last year for the M 5. One thing I can think of is that the M 5 will not be manufactured with the new body style until at least 3 years from the beginning of production of the new body style.
