Headers or Not?

I have got a serious case of the mod bug. My car is stock and I want to get the mods rolling. I am definately getting a SSK, probably B&W with UUC's DSSR. I am also getting the Tubi Rumore Exhaust and IATS Relocation Kit. I was thinking about headers but I have read too much stuff on the board here and I am worried about the software install. Headers installation looks like it is a hard, labor intensive job as well in which the cost could rise faster than the tach afterwards.

I was thinking instead I would get the AA CAI and Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers or the Dinan 3.45 LSD.

Anybody have insight they would like to share with me.
All the stress is leading me to

the answer is relatively simple. Do your really want more power? If so, headers are the first solution with real gains. Throttle bodies are the next, the rest of the stuff is generally fluff, which adds a few hp here and there.

Headers and tb's are worth around 30 hp each, additional.

I don't see what the issue is with the software, both dinan and powerchip have proven solutions.

So you have not had any problems with the Dinan software and Supersprint Headers. I was told the Dinan software is for Dinan Headers, not SS Headers.

Did you do your mods in stages? If so, where did you start.

i've had no issues. I'm currently running a custom program by dinan because of the cams and porting etc. It's nice since i'm near dinan headquarters.

Yes, i did my mods in stages. I started with suspension, brakes, wheels, cai, mafs, etc. fell into a group buy/discount on the headers (about the same $$ they they go for now), tb's, cams and porting were last.

Where to start depends on what you are wanting. Suspension is a big improvement, especially if you plan on going to the track. Car has plenty of power already, but more is always nice.

Before you do the SSK, why don't we get together (I'm in Keller) and you have a look at my E60 545i shifter that I put in mine? I'd bet you might like that and it's a whole lot more reasonable.

That would be great, when would you be available.

Can you give me some more info about the shifter and where to buy? You generally don't hear the word "reasonable" when talking about BMW's.

There's a sh*tload of info on t-bodies if you do a search, and mottati pretty well summed up the question regarding headers; without them, all the other stuff is fluff.

The time has come when I have made my last decision (for the time being) and I am about to send my money off to be turned into mods for the Beast. For those who are interested, my mod list will include: Tubi Rumore Exhaust, StopTech Cross Drilled Rotors F&R, Hawk HPS Pads, IATS Relocation Kit, Tranny Mounts, Rear Sway Bar Brackets, Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers, and AA CAI. I am holding off on the SSK until I meet with Mike S. and see what I think about the E60 545i shifter. Initial thoughts are good.
Made my order through Daniel at BeastPower; he has been super helpful with me throughout the first part of the deal. I will update on the quality of the last part of the deal when it is appropriate.
This board has been a great help and I thank you all for that.

Headers will come soon enough, I figured that I should get the Beast properly prepared for them first.
