Nikon CoolPix 995

purchased for US $540 just a few weeks ago. Can't get over the clarity/resolution! Still only in 'auto' mode, however.

Kodak DC260 -- only 1.6 megapixels, but it works great for my purposes. I won't buy a new one until I can get SLR-like features for under $1000.

I use a Minolta DImage 7 5.1 Megapix.

Great camera with auto and manual focus as well as video clip ability.

Olympus Camedia 2100 UltraZoom.

Only 2.1m pixels, but for what I use it for, nature, shows and err.... stalking, the x10 zoom is incredible, equivalent to a 35mm camera with a 30-380mm zoom, plus my 1,45 tele taking that to 550mm

These are resized to 640x480 to give you an idea of not the quality, but the zoom. All are hand held, no tripod required as the camera has a proper optical, not digital stabiliser built into the barrel. They are not colour corrected or cropped or altered in any way except to resize from 1600x1200 to 640x480, then JPEGd using about 40 compression and 27 smooth.

FULL OUT

FULL IN X10 (380mm equiv on 35mm)

FULL IN PLUS MY OLYMPUS 1.45 TELE

The camera will go further in using a digital zoom, but I don`t count that so these pics don`t use it.

I can`t wait until Olympus do a 6 million pixel, which will finally equal a 35mm when printed 10"x8".

UK price about £550 inc vat, I`ve had it a month or so, these were taken the first day I had it
