computer freeze

I have a 2001 with 92,000 and my computer freezes every once and a while. It will not allow me to change functions. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes the radio will go off every minute or so. What do you guys think.

Thanks

Have you noticed if it is related to temperature in the trunk?

Have you tried new discs?

Cleaning the lens on the drive might help too.

As the system is trying to load new data, it may be having issues getting a clean data stream- they are somewhat fault tolerant and just keep trying until they work.

I had overheat errors that would gradually result in total lock, but prior to that it was sluggish and gltichy.

It's the nav screen that freezes. The radio also goes off after about a minute. Does that have anything to do with disc. in trunk?

Why did you start a new thread when you had good answers in this one?

Nav screen freeze

The disk in the trunk is for the NAV unit
