OT: My day at Sebring with one mean Mustang

I did not get to drive this BEAST today but did get to tag along while they were trying some things out with it at Sebring today.

I thought some of you may enjoy the pics, especially mr. menard. This is the STEEDA race car. It is supercharged and puts out a ton of power, don't ask, and man does it sound incredible. Mothers need to take small children by the hand when this thing is running.
I was asked what I thought about it and how it compares to BMW. I had to resort to practical issues like passengers and golf bags. I am good friends with the man who is STEEDA so I find myself arguing the merits of BMW often, good natured of course.

While I was up there they also allowed me to take one of the Panoz cars around the short track at Sebring.

This was the first time I had done something like that, not in the M5, and man it was pretty awesome. I really encourage you guys who were thinking about doing something like that to go for it. What you learn out there does apply to everyday driving tremendously. The pedals on that car were real close together to which makes downshifting much easier. The instructor showed me the course in an Audi A6 T, I think he could have had a Pinto going quickly around that track!

Looks familiar - but I can't quite put my finger on it?...

          Simon,

? that kinda looks familiar? not sure where I've seen a car like that before though?

Here is my R, and unlike the Steeda Stang, mine is the real deal!!

and it doesn't have this sweet powerplant in it.. 375 at the rear wheels with no blower!!! ...

Steeda is definitely a respected name in Mustang circles. Did they tell you what kind of power thier R-clone Stang was putting out? I wonder if they were using something other than the stock 4.6 liter Cobra motor as a powerplant? Just ask the Houston M5 crew how good my car sounds... it has Bassani hiflow CATs and hiflow exhaust...sounds just like a NASCAR race car!!! Very sweet! Definitely able to break glass...

Btw: I am taking her to the track on Monday! Can't wait!

          Thanks for sharing this...
