Thanks for the tip. However I have done Doug Baker's mod of removing the stock DSP amp and have upgraded my amp to Alpine PDX5 so I now have analog connection.
I have purchased & installed the CD changer adapter cable for analog audio input from iPod.

FYI, I have upgraded my amp to the new Alpine PDX5. 600 watts total music power. New amp is so powerful I already removed the preamp as it is no longer required. Thanks for the tip though.
Take it easy!

I plan on having the Intravee hooked up first thing! Oh, I got my V1 yesterday and the S1 should be here Thursday. So I may asking for install tips this weekend too!
I'm actively searching the internet for a great deal on intravee and Alpine adapter. So far, I see promising possible sale.

It is basically the Intravee II + Alpine KCA-420i combo equivalent in one device.
They claim that it works for E39 factory stereo non-DSP. And they said that you can control your ipod from the factory stereo and also from your steering wheel.
For $129, and if it works, I think this is an awesome deal, knowing that Intravee + KCA-420i combo runs about $350.
Anyone tried this stuff yet?
EDIT:
OK....never mind....after reading the manual, the playlist and song name will not show up in our display.
It will only have track number or something in that nature.
This is what they say on the manual:
"Some factory radio's may show DISC and TRACK numbers on the display of the
radio. The iSimple BMW interface does not send any information from the iPod to
the radio. This means that the DISC and TRACK numbers shown on the display
will not and can not reflect the song number on the iPod due to the complex
nature of the music library. Some factory radio's may flash zero's on the display
of the radio, or toggle back and forth between 1:00 and 2:00. All these are normal
behaviors and do not represent a malfunction."
I received the Intravee II from Bimmernav last night and I found a preowned Alpine KC0-420i on Craigslist for a great price.
I hooked everything up last night, quick plug and play, and so far, happy to report, I am very pleased with Intravee II. I will post more info later on my findings/review compared to DICE, but for now, question for the Intravee user experts please:
I programmed the clock button on the Nav screen to "go back to Now playing menu". That button works but only for about 2 times. After presing the "clock" button two times - the button wont work anymore no matter how hard I push the button and I dont know how to bring the menu back to the "Now Playing" menu.
Is there another button I can push to bring back the Intravee Main Menu?
The only time the Intravee main menu will show up again is if I turn the stereo off for a few minutes, then back on.
Am I doing something wrong or something I have not programmed properly? Help please!
Now playing only works if you have the display showing track info etc, it won't work if you have your GPS showing for example. Not sure if that is the problem.
The only way to get back to main menu is with the '<
hope that helped Dan.
Make sure you look at the intravee forums too.
