          Post Aftermarket Upgrades
          After reading all the posts about new brakes, chips, short shifters etc was wondering if all these are easily reversible and what impact they have on resale value and warranty. I must admit I would steer clear of an M5 with these mods as I would assume it had done lots of track time. Any thoughts?

          I don't see a problem with other brakes, exhausts, spoilers or additional stuff like radar warners. Were I wouldn't buy an used car is when it's chip tuned, because this has definitly an impact on the engine lifetime.

          A fully serviced, well taken care of, stock car will worth more then moded one(assume it's same model, same model year). I am sure that brake/short-shift/chip is easily reversable when comes to sell the car. If you decided to go for mods, make sure you keep the OE parts handy just in case...

          The M5 contains flash memory, which I understand is hardwired in. Any downloads overwrite the flash, so "keeping" the original memory contents will consist of returning it to the dealership to bring the contents back to their original state.
