Imola Red M5
Does anyone have it?? Any pictures?? Why is it such an avoided color besides police attraction? Trying to narrow colors. Down to Titanium Silver, Alpine White, or maybe Imola Red.

IMHO Stealth is very much a part of the M5 draw. A little funny to say that about a mid sized BMW, but in proportion to performance it is.
There seems to be a "correct color" element to some BMW owners. But if you are spending $75K or more (I hope not more) on a car, get what you want.
There were two Imola Red M5s at Spartanburg last June. I thought they looked great. A great red that is a shade darker than what was on the E36 M3. When I commented on the color one instructor perked up and said it was his favorite M5 color. He went on for a while. This from a guy that gets a lot of color chit-chat.
You may want to see it first. I eliminated the red for the stealth reason.
Good luck
TD

I think Imola Red sucks. Of the colours listed, I would choose the Silver. Personally, I'd go for LeMans blue or (best of all) Carbonblack. Good Luck.

I love Red, but somehow it doesn't really suit the M5, I mean its nice and everything, but I like Jet Black better on the M5, and what I have noticed from customer requests on the M5 and the other Sport sedans is that Red is not a suitable color for sedans.
But it really stands out from the crowd though.

I have an imola red M5 with all leather caramel interior and bruyere club wood. Not only is this vehicle the best BMW I've ever had but so is the color. The exterior is very unique---like a blood red-- with some blue or brown that makes it darker and much more refined than the bright red in other BMW models. I don't care for dark interiors and the two tones were too jazzy for me( also no vertical rolls to the leather). Caramel might scare some people as it is on the pumpkinny side---a dark tan with a hint of orange in it. If I hadn't picked this combo, I would have gone with Anthracite, another unusual color that changes slightly in different light(as does the Imola Red). For me the carbon black is too blue and even purple in some lights, the canyon red is too dull, the titanium is what every one else has. For a stealth look, I would definitely pick Jet Black over carbon. Hope this helps

Thanx everyone for your responses. I was hoping for some pics however I think I'm going to go with the crowd and get Titanium Silver. I've had black vehicles before. They're great looking and powerful, however, over time they don't look so great. It seems that most like red but do not wish to have the assumed flamboyance and attention that comes with it. I think it may look good in red. JMS, please post pics of your M5.
Thanx,

Having owned silver, red, black and dark blue vehicles I can tell you that silver is by far the easiest to maintain, shows scratches the least and allows you to be a little lazier on Sunday afternoons with the wash bucket.

If I knew how to post 35mm pix, I would, but I don't. Sorry.By the way, the picture on the "what color is your M5" message showing the caramel interior portrays it as much too light. My pictures do this also. The shade in the brochure is actually pretty accurate. My 5401 Sport was silver and you certainly won't go wrong with that. I share your concern about black. Not only does it show more dirt, but it always gets those swirl marks that make it look when its still brand new. Good luck and enjoy

Never been to a bar on Boston Post Road or any other bar, for that matter.

Andy, I agree. my imola red with caramel has big time attitude. It really stands out form the crowd and you know it is a power car. then again, you have to be comfortable with that. For me that's fine. For others, maybe not
