DIY Solution to Broken Headlight Adjusters

When I found out my passenger side headlight was pointed directly in front of the car, I searched the forum and found only a few solutions:
1. Buy new headlight
2. Buy new OEM plastic adjusters
3. Buy new metal adjusters from CA-auto
4. Fabricate my own adjusters

I went ahead and ordered the metal ones from sponsor CA-automotive for $14x.xx, as I figured I'm only going to want to open up the headlights ONCE, and I want it done right the first time.

While I am waiting for these to arrive from abroad, I still didn't like the idea the light output was not in optimal position. I saw 1 thread about someone asking about using zip-ties, and figured I'd do some testing. Using 3 zip-ties connected together, I routed it to a metal tube at the bottom of the headlights. This essentially "pulls" the bulb down, aiming the light higher for a more optimal output position. Quick and easy. Here are some things to note:

1. I was concerned about whether the lights would still be able to auto-level with this DIY. The auto headlight adjustment at start-up and during driving remains fully functional.
2. The height may not be 100% where you want it to be, but its better than directly in front of the car. I suggest trial and error with the tightness of the zip-tie to ensure you get the correct height and not blind on-coming traffic.
3. For someone who has this problem and doesn't really know which route to take yet (whether to buy new headlights, buy new adjusters, or make their own), this may be the temporary solution.

Hopefully this easy solution helps someone who has broken adjusters and hasn't done anything about it [yet]. :hihi:
