I will check my "stash", but I think all the major monthlys did one, although at least one was a comparo. I think there was an MB E55 comparo, and another with MB and Jaguar.

But I would think the best source would be Roundels. Check 1999 vintage for U.S version. I know Roundel did an S2 story also later on.
Regards,
Jerry

Hi

You should do a search on Amazon - there is a book on there called M5 - Gold Portfolio, which has old reviews of all versions of the M5 upto and including the E39. The reviews are taken from various magazines from UK, US and Aus so a fairly broad view.

E55?
RS6?
Jag Type R?
Holden HSV?

All better at some bits according to the review, but overall nothing can beat an E39 M5. But then I guess we already knew that !

Cheers
