Very OT: Any George Harrison fans out there?
Sadly, Mr. Harrison passed away today. Its funny, I don't know the guy, yet I feel sad. I suppose its because I knew a part of him. I dont know if anyone will respond- but I just wanted to say that and that he will be missed. I hope he is in a better place.

I would guess many of us Boomer generation will miss him too. He was the Beatle who brought us the sitar and is quoted (in the 80s) as having said we'll not have a Beatles' reunion as long as John is dead.

A sad day indeed...
I remember seeing the first US live telecast of George Harrison and the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, Sunday, Feb.9,1964. They were certainly a music phenomenom, and started a revolution in rock music, changing it's face forever.

sad, while I do appreciate and enjoyed the former beatles, my parents grew up with them and truly felt remorse and were very sad. I guess sort of their generation growing up and growing old.

I heard the news today, oh boy....
I'm sad, really really sad. I've been listening today some of George's creations diggin down my Beatles vinil collection and boy it sounds so good!
Feeling as bad as when good ol' John was shot dead not many days from today years ago (is it now 20 years?).
Well, I hope George joined John, and they both will prepare a reunion for when Ringo & Paul joins them. What a party it will be! I only wish they'll have a good time toghether again.
While my guitar gently wheeps...
 for George!

I believe he was fighting all sorts of cancer and the saddest part was that one of the cancers was in his lungs and thats where he was stabbed by an intruder to his home. talk about adding insult to injury. Anyhow, rest well George. He seemed to be a very kind man.

memories
DrRob, I remember that night. I was with my drinking buddies in the White House Bar in Riviera Beach Florida. We all gathered for the big debue in the US. Lots of good memories, too bad they didn't stay together longer. George was layed back and cool but very talented.
Looking back I would have thought Ringo would be the one to go first. George would have been the last and Paul is no surprise, a solid person. And if John had it to do all over again he probably would have kept a lower profile.
They were ground breaking in many ways.. Indeed a sad day.
Hey we're showing our age.
