damn that sucks mate...mine is still ok,(well it was ok ,until a friend tryed to flasch my dme for latest update, before i took it to my other friend for chipping. its dead now. ecu/dme killed )

maybe try to get it on a dyno mate ,and see what the running curves are like.whp/torque/Air to Fuel Ratio.
maybe you have; a injector broken ,fuel issues, or a vacuumproblem and the engine makes to mutch pressure or something ,i'm just random guessing here, your problem is so strange . after all those replacement parts and tons off $$, its still not good.

so, still no codes that comes up ??

i have no clue anymore, what could be the problem.
i hope that you will find it soon.

i wisch you the best of luck mate in this search...

No codes at all. I know the MAFS have to be pretty bad before throwing a code. I did the on board MAFS test and it came up 109 for three pulls in third gear. As I understand it, I should be around 130-140. I have also noticed a healthy oil consumption. I have had my car to 2 different dealers and they said the same thing. "That is just how that engine runs". I can hear the change in my ash tray shaking. That isn't normal. Both dealers also said that the VANOS is just fine. I am at a loss.

Am I missing the obvious?
Your are only flowing 109L/H at WOT.

Thats waaaaay too low.
Why aren't you changing them.
So say when you unplug the one MAF it makes no difference, that also dont sound right, clearly this MAF is not reading properly - maybe the ECU is just ignoring it???

yep 109 l is way to low my friend...

2 gear is about 135-140 L, i thought that 3 gear must be in the 125L regions.

try to clean them up and see what happens. (temporary fix)

but then you know a bit more.

on those numbers i also would say, mafs.

Like I have said, I have had my car at two different BMW dealers. Both of them said my car was "OK". I have replaced the MAFS with new ones and even switched sides with them. Yesterday I pulled off the plenum and followed the MAFS wiring as far back as I could to see if I could find an obvious problem. I cleaned out the plenum pretty good, but no change in the cars performance.

someone who isn't used to drive our cars will allways say its ok, even iff we run 50 hp down.

but the 109L is to low.why?? i dont know. iff the mafs where getting bad you could have misfire codes, engine fail safe mode, pinging. you dont have those you said + they are new, so thats not it.

(iff one of the 2 is broken and you switch them , then 1 is still broken ) right..
dont you know anybody in your neighborhood that can help you out and switch his as a experiment?

can you get a voltmeter on those mafs jc?? mafs schould have a 5Volt current.

when my mafs where shot , i dident have codes,or misfires and engine fail safe mode either, and they found out after 14 days that the mafs only gave a 3,5Volt current .

109L is not good , now we got a location to search on

maybe check that out. doesnt cost you a cent.

At the rate you are going you will have a new car (in terms of replacing every part)

Just teasing though. Good luck...

I seem to remember one side has a different or additional function. Someone will chime in I am sure.

In the meantime, simpy swap the sensors. If the problem switches sides, then it is a MAF issue.

I have switched sides with both sensors and then replaced them both. I don't know if the car is getting the signal from the right side sensor or what. If there was an air leak, would it be before the sensor or after?

One of the MAF banks has the air temp sensor in it, so that may be why it's stumbling. The car will run with the MAFs unplugged
