i'm just back from my friend that did a service on the car,new plugs, new air filters, new oilfilter,ect... but i told him to change the oil separators in front off the plenium to + the two hoses that come with it.(2 black cone shaped objects) the hesitations are gone,is it because off the new plugs??who knows but the hoses from the oil separators where tottally inpregnated with oil and the were at least half closed by old oil residue, same for the two cones.my old sparkplugs lookt like almost new after 7000 miles, full dry ,not black, and very clean so the engine run's fine. i think.
JCdavis have you changed those oil separators allready ?? they arent that expensive, maybe try those as a last attempt.i thought it costed me about 120-150 $ for the two with work max. i cant say specific how mutch because i forgot my bill ... its a fairly easy job to do yourself also by the way,and takes about a hour (goofing around)30min max, iff you work like a pro .
i was giving up also after trowing my money in it again, but for now it seems to be working.i will post back in some days, iff it stays ok.because it could be the new plugs etc.. that camouflages my problem for now.
any way good luck in your search mate.
Sounds like its worth a shot. I will order the parts today and see what happens. What did your old plugs look like?
they lookt fairly good in my opinion. they where dry, so no overfueling, no carbonbuild up , and no black burnmarks on the plugs. they lookt like new . they where replaced about 7000 miles ago but i replaced them because the car needed a inspection anyway.
I put on the new oil separators and it helped for about 20 min or so. I did notice that when I unplug the left bank MAFS the car stumbles and almost dies, but when I unplug the right bank MAFS nothing happens. I tried the same trick on my 1998 540i and the car didn't stumble. I think I am back at square one. I can't believe I am the only one that has ever experienced this.
