Who can dyno-tune our M5s?

I'm pretty fairly convinced now that mail in tunes are bogus and the way other cars do it is obviously take the car to a dyno and have them tune while on the dyno adjusting the settings. This seems logical but how come I've never heard of anyone being able to do it for us? Is there anyone in Socal who can do it so I stop throwing money away on postage and fake claims?

hi there

dyno tuned is a waste of money and time, to get the best out of them
it should be live mapped on the road, then dyno tested for test results
etc...

thanks

yeah, this is what dinan did for my car. they hooked up their data aquisition stuff, drove the car under various conditions, and made software changes based on that. Powerchip can do the same thing.

Dyno tuning is not a waste! Many people tune using the dyno. yes you can sometimes get a little more power (1-5hp usually in 1st and second were running leaner will not cause damage due to load)tuning on the road but the end user most likely will not see or feel the difference.

Just because you are tuning it on the road doesnt mean you will make tons more power. using a dyno is a very safe realistic way to tune a vehicle, there are only so many variables to making power which you can come real close to replicating on a dyno.

With that being said. i know dinan and powerchip can tune but so can't Active in Fl and VAC in PA. i am sure there are more. I also know that some guys have the capability to send you a data logger and build you a tune using that. which is goo dbut it can sometimes be a trail and error thing

Hope this helps

Ryan

This the video to my son's tune on his 06 Evo MR. He is 367 to the wheels with 333 torque. It was done here on the east coast at Turbotixs. AMS road tuned his friends 06 Evo first, it took a while for my son to let his friend know his car was a heck of a lot faster than his friends. Ams charged $800.00 whereas my son paid $500.00 for his tune.
