Early MY 2000 and NAV ver. 18 - impressions

i friend of mine did it last night. it worked fine, but he did not get prompted for the key cd. the nav just rebooted and worked fine after that.

here are some of his observations over the evening (he called me this morning):

        1. the functionality has not changed. the greeting screen is different (the one with the "accept" button, but that is about it)

        2. the greeting screen has been moved up the tree of choices- in other words you turn on the nav, and you are greeted with the "accept" message. before it was displayed only when you chose "gps".... annoying to say at least

        3. the speed of the nav seems to have increased. entering an address takes less time

        4. if you are at 400 feet scale it will automatically revert to a larger scale based on time passed- before this was happening if you were going too fast for a while and the nav could not keep up. now seems to be based on time- even if you are standing still it will revert to a 800 feet or so scale. however, if you go into the "scale" window it still says 400 feet. going to 1/2 and then back to 400 restores the 400 feet scale. annoying again

nothing else seems to have been changed.
