Guys, I must say, as much as I hated the look of the new 7, it's starting to grow on me.

Ken,

I agree with you. I still don't "like it". But for some reason, I disliked it less when I saw the car in silver. In fact, I had to look at the red one again to confirm that the silver one was actually a 7.

I used to think that the new 7 looked like an overgrown updated Mazda Millenia from the front and side with a butt-ugly rear end. When I saw the car in silver, I thought the rear-end looked like an Infiniti design.

Although seeing the car in silver has softened my despise for the car, I still think the design is too Japanese-ish.... certainly not a design that's fitting to wear the roundel (isn't that what they call the BMW emblem?).

no worries at all ppl....glad u liked the post.

i think the 7 has grown on every1 a little....and having seen it in person it does look a whole lot better then in pics.

livenupe,
im pretty sure the emblem is called the propellor....as beema started out making plane engines.

i think the bmw.de configurator is sooooo much better then the bmwusa.com site....so many more possiblities to choose from....but 1st time is very hard to work out if you dont know german.

Greg

I like the third set of rims with 10 spokes, with those the 7 series really look attractive!

I attended a BMW show this past weekend in HK. imo, the most awkward part of the car is the rearend. The car looks better in dark colors probably because it hides the lines better. The interior is very comfortable, more so than a S-class I must say. There are so many technical gadgets in this car. I got to play around with the I-drive interface a little, there is even an I-drive controller in the rear passenger seat. There were many selections in the I-drive menu such as climate control, GPS, communication, and various others. I can't imagine driving and using the i-drive system at the same time without studying the intructions a couple of times.

here are some shots:
