On The Maersk Wave! Anyone Else?

An extra Thanksgiving treat! Finally built and on a ship and should reach the US 12/5. Looks like it will be here before Christmas.

Anyone else here on the Maersk Wave?

Alan, It's getting close!

I hope decent weather holds out for you out there.

You may be able to take advantage of the sales tax holiday afterall, if it passes this time. Don't know if you've been following the thread "News Alert: No Sales Tax!!!" last updated 11-22. A new bill, H.R. 3301, proposing a tax holiday after Dec 7 and before Dec 16 is pending. As this is supported by both sides, and the fact that anticipation of it's passing is holding up sales, hurting the economy further, I think there's at least a chance of it's passage.

You'll really benefit, because, as I recall, you pay 7 or 8% sales tax in IL, don't you? My daughter, who lives in Palos Hills, recently bought a Z3.

Follow that thread as I'll update it as info becomes available.

DrRob,

I've been following the sales tax posts closely. At first I thought I was going to miss it. Now there is renewed hope! It would be great to save a few thousand on this little diversion.

Cheers!

Alan

You can call BMWNA and they will tell you.

There is also a web site for the shipping company that shows you the schedules of all of their ships. I don't have the number available right now but I will post it later or you can search the board - that's where I found it.

Call 800.831.1117 hit option #3, they can give you a detailed build status. If you go to www.e46fanatics.com/faq/status.html all of the bmw status codes are listed. Hope this helps. You will need your production number of your car. Your dealer should give you this number. They too can get online and get this information, but they don't like to be bugged. I called weekly after my car turned status 150. After you know your car is shipped, BMW can give you the ship name. You now can go to Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines and track your ships ports of call and delivery at www.wlna.com Hope this helps.
