Titanium Handbrake trim

I need the correct part code for Titanium Handbrake trim.

my titanium handbrake finish is quite badley scuffed and I want to replace it with a new one - however, my local stealership can't find the correct part code - each time they've ordered a replacement - it's either been the brushed alloy finish or a solid brushed alloy handbrake.

Eitherway my search of ebay and the net hasn't been to successful. Its the type where the top is titanium finish and the bottom is black.

Anyone have any ideas where to source one of these from?

does anyone know the best way to change the handbrake cover/lever? I have a Kelleners Sport cover waiting to be fitted, but when we went to do it we could not see an easy way of removing the BMW leather handbrake cover without damaging it beyond repair.

Does anyone have any tips for removing them safely and relatively easily?

cheers

my bmw stealership have previously ordered the mat chrome - which is brushed alloy finish - so this was wrong

and the KREUZGEB - which is basically a solid alloy handbrake with brushed alloy in a criss/cross pattern effect - not a great description - but certainly not titanium.

The realoem link is great but looks the same as the bmw stealership were using to order the parts. Thus the same part options

- i cant imagine I'm the only one wanting to replace this - there must be loads more titanium handbrakes out there that look scuffed

As far as I could find out the titan handbrake and gear shifter are no longer available - they were very prone to wear so BMW discontinued them, there was an SB which instructed dealers to replace with the leather versions at the owners request.

I replaced mine with the leather versions and I must admit I prefer them - even though I really wanted the titan versions.

Black leather sounds good - where do I find one - not into sticking black vinaly over top of titan finish though - would prefer proper job.

I bought the gear shifter from orangetuning.de - worked out about €50 less that through my local dealer, I bought the handbrake handle from ebay.

The handbrake handle is generic across the E39s, one from the 540i will work, but, the shifter is different, the gaitor and grip are all one piece so you will need to get one specifically for the E39 M5 - and they are also different between RHD cars and LHD.

this is how mine looks;

Still searching for the titanium handbrake replacement - I like the idea of a black leather handbrake handle - perhaps this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E39-GEAR-H...sid=p1638.m118

but not sure if a gaiter is the handle ???
The leather boot is obvious or are they both the same thing just different terms

All I want is to replace my handbrake handle - this has proven to be hard work

any comments still?
