I have had an SES light that stays on just about all the time. At first it indicated a crankshaft position sensor. I reset it and that code never returned. I do get a misfire on #4 and a couple of others. The car runs fine.
I was going to get it into the shop when a cold spell hit. The temps went below 20 degrees for a couple of days. I drove the car - no SES light.
I refilled the gas - SES light comes on. (I do close the cap tightly until it clicks.)
Light stays on for a couple of days. Temps get cold again - light goes out. I drive it then fill the gas, light comes back on.
Cold weather below 20 degrees. Light goes out.
I use Citgo, Hess, sometimes Mobil (all 93 0ctane). It does not seem gas dependent, but below 20 degrees and gas refill dependent. Kind of strange. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
