I just settled with my insurance company and I bought the car back..Pm me if you need any specific info on the process.
Good Luck

Thanks, I'll be contacting about specifics after I meet w/the adjustor on Jan. 02 Sorry about your luck as well. Happy & safe holidays
P.S. I'm sure in lesser cars we would not have been so lucky.

Thank the lord you are alive! Totalling your car can never arise at a "good" time, but on the bright side you escaped w/broken ribs that will heal. I'm happy to know that you are alive and that the beast did what it was supposed to...Protect you. Good luck with whatever car you decide on next.

Happy Holidays,

No ice. It had melted earlier in the week. The roads were damp & the temp was about 36 F. The intersection is known for having accidents. Any time there is residual coolant/antifreeze on the ground it is slicker than snot. The back came around all of the sudden and that was it.......bang.

Maybe this is inappropriate, but if you could we all would appreciate some pictures of the car. I think we all learn a lesson from that.

Keep us posted on the buy-back situation. Real curious about that. The insurance company knows there is a market for these parts also.

Best of luck.

Actually no...at least in NY State...In NY you(owner) have the option to buy back your car...the cost is 20% of the payout...nothing else. They CANNOT deny you the option unless you dont own the car.
That is in fact what I did...my proceeds check will reflect a 20% deduction and I will be picking upi the car on the 26th of Dec.
They do not look at the "salvage" value of the vehicle parted out.
The only reason why I bought my car back was that I just ahd a New UUC Clutch & Flywheel put in and my exhaust(x-Pipe) were only six months old.
All the body panels are shot....the intrerior is fine and the motor & tranny are fine
Regards
S

Gustav,
As soon as I can figure how to download them from my phone to my computer I'll post some photos. It will be sometime after the first of the year as I will be out of town until then.

Thanks for advice. If I can buy back the car for 20% of the FMV it would definately be worth it, I think. I just put a stage 3 clutch w/JB flywheel in this fall & a BSW sub in last month as well as some other minor mods.
