        carbon fiber emblem pictures...

ahh.. out of the blue tonight, I remembered that I have never taken pictures of the carbon fiber emblems I bought on ebay a while ago..... so I went down to my garage and snapped a few pictures off... well, they're not real CF, but they look good enough for me... and I think it matches my car really well... :hehe:

Cool emblems, looks nice. I think the emblems I have would look really sweet on your black M5.

Looks like your finish could use some swirl remover.

        Emblems

        Hey Terence,

Just hit you on the TV thread (hope to never visit that one again!) and came here and saw this.

I have Carbon Fiber over the blue part of the roundel and titanium silver over the white part, (my car color), both trunk and hood, and on all the wheel centers. Looks great and any BMW nut who notices them thinks they're cool.

I'm going to try to post pics of my ACS exhaust with a .wav file, so maybe I'll try to post emblems too.

Hey, what is the Euro dash conversion? And the M-Technic grill? I'm not familiar with either.

ahh.. Eurodash... it's the best thing you can do for the interior of the US cars... if you search the messageboard, you should be able to find some information on it.. here's a thread to begin with:

        http://www.bmwm5.com/vbulletin/showt...&threadid=3504

As for the M-technic grill, it's basically the grill for the 5 series sports package in Europe... it's got the cross brace and it also opens up the brake ducts...

        Terence,
It's only 5AM here in LA, you must be on the East Coast, since you're obviously on-line.
Love the look of the M-technic grill. Gotta get that.
Some of the dash pics were no longer available, although I did get the price list and the pics of the parts.
Thanks for the fast response !

yep.. I'm trying to mess up my sleep schedule on purpose, since I'm driving up to Toronto tonight... starting the trip at 11pm.. hopefully getting there by 7 or 8 am... trying to swap my sleep times around, so that I wouldn't fall asleep on my drive up..

The prices are actually different for the euro-dash on every car... depending on the color and type of leather... some people have gotten it really cheap for the 528 and 540.. but somehow the parts for the luxury leather in the M5 is MUCH more expensive.... I paid nearly $1500 for the parts and install, even with a 25% discount....

here's a picture of my car's interior with eurodash.. if you compare it closely with a stock US spec car, you can see that the lower dash is MUCH thinner and gives a lot more legroom for the driver and passenger. Plus there's a little cubbyhole on the left side of the driver to store stuff:

        Hi,

Saw it, liked it, but I guess I'd rather spend any extra $1500 I have lying around for performance. Screw the passenger ! They're usually only a girl I'm taking out once or twice anyway. (they never seem to last any longer than that) and with my 4 1/2 yr-old daughter occupying the passenger side rear seat in her car seat, all she wants to do is go faster ! I'm training her at an early age.

Have a fantastic trip to Toronto (Thanksgiving?) and test your speed limiter. I always do on any of my long trips. Keeps me occupied.

haha.. I don't care about the passenger as well, but then it's much more comfortable for the driver... at 6'1", I'm totally uncomfortable in the US spec car... with the dash, it makes a HUGE difference.. you really have to try it out in person to appreciate it...

hehe... what speed limiter? I don't think I'll go crazy on my way up... I've heard far too many stories of people getting pulled over on 1-90 in NY state.. I heard the state troopers there are notorious for pulling people over going just 5mph over the speed limit... but who knows.. maybe there would be a long enough stretch of open road for me to try...

I did consider doing the eurodash conversion but ultimately decided that since I'm not that tall (5'8") it wasn't worth the effort for increased legroom. Like some others, I'd rather spend the money on performance mods such as the CAI which I'm hoping to get next!

I did do the M-technic conversion though and they look GREAT! I'd do it again if given the chance.
