17" Borbet Type E over Stoptech ST-40?

I have 17x8 Borbet Type E Winter wheels and am looking into getting the stoptech front kit from Zeckhausen.
Does anyone have that setup and do the 17" Borbet type E wheels clear the calipers?
I have a frozen piston in a stock front caliper on my 2000 M5 and am considering going to the stoptech kit rather than rebuilding or replacing.

As an aside -- has anyone had good luck with rebuilding calipers? My rubber piston surrounds are disintegrating and the first caliper has now seized up...

Thanks!

Plenty of clearance! I have them on my 540i 6-Speed right now as my winter wheels. They cleared the old Brembo brakes I used to have and they clear the current StopTech ST-40 front and ST-22 rear.

Here's a shot with the Brembo brakes. The StopTech brakes require about 3mm less clearance, so the 17" Borbet Type E wheels easily clear them.

Want to sell me your stock calipers and carriers?

To get back on track, for future thread readers, the stock 17x8 BMW wheels that came on most E39s will fit over StopTech 14" front brakes as well. I tried it with my 540 wheels on the M5 once:

After discussing with my mechanic, I've decided to rebuild the caliper for now. I picked up a couple of rebuild kits from bavauto.

Maybe upgrade to the stoptechs in the spring!

Dave Z. and Redshift - thanks for the responses and great pics!

Jeff
