http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/05/1...-on-run-flats/

I more closely researched the Audi S4 capability. I stand corrected as they're only running strong 12's with chip and exhaust. 2007 cars with additional downpipe and airbox upgrades are very close to 11's. Affordable downpipe & turbos upgrade kits are installed to produce up to 600 HP and produce 10's at 130+ MPH.

Understand I'm not doubting or in any way disputing these 11 second ATCO timeslips for stock M5. I'm simply noting that ATCO is not level and it produces results that compel folks to drive there from afar. A typical M5 driven by a good driver produces low 13's at a typical track. IMO, a stellar driver in a stock M5 should not be able to find a second + at ATCO, so the time is very impressive.

There is exactly ONE stock C6Z06 that ran tens on runflats. And it was NOT at Atco. The only C6Z06s that have run 10's at Atco have done so on drag radials. My friend did exactly that at my rental on Friday.

Who is claiming that this M5 is stock? It has a Dinan S3 package - supercharged. The list of mods is as long as my arm.

This S3 will easily run 11.5 @125 mph if we added drag radials & 3.45 gearing to the current state of tune. I'm trying to convince Sean et al at Dinan to cut me a new blower pulley that will put me at the high end of the blower spec. It's currently generating 7.0 psi and I'd like to see it at 7.8 psi.

That was my car that blew the airbags. Good idea pulling the fuse.
The carrier bearing is really the culprit. It twist's and move the driveshaft out of alignment....then the u joint snaps. Good to take the precaution.

Nice times by the way. Can't wait to see the video.

I know I've ranted and railed about beating this car, abusing it on the drag strip before, so I won't do it here - - I must say, that is really impressive to get into the 11's...

Back in the day, I got to 11.3 BUT;

-this car weighs 4 , 0 0 0 pounds! -I did it in a '69 Camaro that weighed only 3100...

-this engine (S3) is over 600hp, but that's a 5 liter ! -mine was only 550hp, but 7.5 liters...

-The S3 is still really a road suspension/rear end gearing... - mine was a massive clutch, traction bars etc moded rear suspension and 4.88 rear end gears (helped to pull the front tires off the ground)

...so despite my hopes most wouldn't regularly hit the drags with this car, I have to say what you guys have been able to achieve is really something...

...now be proud of the time slips, put them in a frame, and take her back out on the open road - safe travels

You must go with larger turbos, larger injectors, bigger intercoolers, proper tune, much stronger clutch, etc, to get into the 11's with an S4.
exactly

2007 S4s (2004 and up) are 4.2L V8s with 340hp stock. There is no 2007 S4 that can get into the 11's without enormous amounts of engine work. There is no such thing as a 2007 S4 with downpipe and airbox running close to 11's.

The last year for the B5 S4 (twin turbo V6) was 2002. Even so, with chip tuning and catback, you are not going to reliably be in the 12's with an S4 not to mention that any chip tuning that gets enough boost to get into the 12's with the stock turbos and intercoolers will be spinning the turbos way above their max operating rpm = short lifespan. The S4 is a real tuneable platform to be sure, but it is not by any means as easy as what you are indicating.

Also, the M5 running 11s at over 120mph is a Dinan S3.
