E39 Rear Seatbelts

Does anyone know if all E39s (M5) had 3x3 point belts in the back? If not, could they be retrofitted?

Do you mean a 3 point belt in the center seat? Don't know, never checked, but I would wonder where the anchor point would be for the shoulder belt. Maybe you could use the child seat hooks on the top of the rear shelf? Maybe someone else can help.
Regards,
Jerry

well, my 98 528 had a 3 point belt in all 3 postitions in the back, as does my 00 m5. The 528 had fold down rear seats, so the shoulder section was a two part belt that could clip and unclip if you wanted to fold the seats down.

IIRC, my previous e34 also had shoulder belts in all 3 positions, (though my current e34 m5 is a 4 seater, so obviously it does not).

Both my 03 M5 and 01 540 have a 3 point in the rear center. Neither car has the fold down seat option.

I also have 3-point seatbelts in al three positions. MY03 with fold-down seats. The middle seat belt is indeed locked with a clip.
