Sales Feedback: (0) Dinan - no longer with BMW, phasing out i'm told

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

have not posted on this board ever since i sold my 03 m5... long time.

today i called bmw about a dinan exhuast and they said they are phasing dinan out as Bmw is planning to come out with their own line of performance products.

I was also told that Dinan will now be venturing into partnerships with Audi and Mercedes to broaden their customer base.

        wow. that is a Change.

        Kwan

I have heard that Dinan is going to be phased out and this information came from the parts manager at a dealership. The reason was the same. BMW performance parts line I heard is supposed to be rolling out in place of Dinan for some particular parts.

BMW has "regressed" to say, with Dinan and have launced their own performance line of parts that carry factory warranty. They obviuosly haven't done a great job even though the advertisements are riddled through Roundel. They do plan on eliminating the factory warranty alliance with Dinan.

Sales Feedback: (0) Business as usual at Dinan

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dinan and BMW had a “falling out”?
        Hardly!

For over a decade, Dinan products have been distributed through a network of over 150 Authorized Dinan Dealers in the US and Canada, comprised of both BMW dealerships and independent facilities. As BMW enthusiasts have come to expect from America’s premiere tuner, Dinan products are backed by matching new car warranty coverage for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first), including consequential damages. In addition Dinan product warranty is available on CPO cars as well.

Quality products, renowned performance and the best warranty in the business have proven to be a successful combination, ensuring that consumers enjoy all of the performance they desire without compromising drivability, reliability or warranty coverage.

Despite the absurdity of the rumors you may have heard, we’d like to ensure that enthusiasts are confident that it’s business as usual at Dinan. Dinan products continue to be sold and installed by BMW dealerships around the country. Dinan’s agreements with its authorized BMW dealerships remain in full force and our cooperative arrangement with BMW NA continues to provide the consumer with hassle-free warranty coverage on Dinan enhanced BMWs for the entire new car warranty coverage period as well as CPO.

Some of these rumors are likely attributable to the new line of performance accessories that BMW has recently introduced. We’ve always firmly believed that BMW manufactures quality products and it’s unlikely that this new line is any exception. Certainly the product lines are quite different, as Dinan’s product line is much more in depth. Dinan not only makes products that compete with BMW’s new products but we also make products with a much higher level of performance, Like high performance engines and supercharger systems more aggressive suspensions and wheel and tire packages to name a few. Dinan currently has almost 900 products! BMW has only a few products and while their product line will grow, it is unlikely that there product line will ever come close to the choices Dinan has to offer. It is up to the consumer to compare performance, warranty, quality and price to determine best value on the market.

Dinan has introduced over 50 new products in the last year alone. Dinan is introducing a number of exciting new products in the coming months, not the least of which being a 600 hp, 5.7 liter version of the V-10 as well as a substantial “boost” in power for the 335. Each of these products will be available through Dinan Authorized BMW Dealerships and independent facilities throughout the country. And they’ll be backed by matching new car warranty coverage, so you’re covered by Dinan and BMW for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles.

        Performance without sacrifice.

I know for a fact that my local dealership that I go to is eliminating Dinan from their lineup entirely and going with the BMW line. For them to say they remain in "full force" is definitely untrue. While some dealerships may sell both lines side by side, there are dealerships that are dropping them from their lineup entirely.

There is their website with 25% off ALL Dinan parts.

they already are... at least around these parts... there are quite a few bmw dealers in the nyc area which offer bmw perf. parts... but do not offer dinan.

ALL? Looks like it only applies on the list of parts displayed on that link and only if the items are in stock. Unless I missed something...

BMW has only released performance parts for mostly E46 3 series so it's harder for me to believe that they would go drop Dinan completely to narrow their offering only to a few cars where they can offer a full suite of product for a wide range of cars with Dinan.

iconoclast, I'd be curious to know if those dealers ever carried Dinan parts in the first place. If they never did, then they never "dropped" Dinan.

Of course, things can change in the future so who knows.

BTW, here's the link where a rep from Dinan gave that reply so maybe we can ask for more clarication if there's still doubt:
