Vanos solenoid supplier and price
Does anyone know if the vanos solenoid is available after market and where. I got a quote today of $589.00 for a 2000 model.

Thanks in advance for any help.

mine failed the VANOS test I did on it the other day with DIS, exhaust solenoid bank1 is faulty, but realoem/etk lists two different part numbers for the actual solenoid and it looks like there are either different ones for exhaust and intake or left and right banks as it gives two numbers and quantity of 2.

Can anyone confirm what is going on?

RealOEM is confusing on this. There are different part numbers depending on when the car was produced (see the production dates - before or after 10/1999). Regardless of all that, there are four solenoids for each bank, two per cam, but they all four come as one part. But since you have two banks per engine, I guess that's why they list a quantity of 2. So although only your exhaust solenoids have failed, you will be replacing all four of them. I went through this myself in September (a search will find my very frustrated and confused posts as I didn't have a clue what I was doing).
