Upgrading Hifi - UK - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

Hi, just found this board - looks interesting:-)

I've just got a Jan 2000 M5 - Silverstone/Black. Unfortunately it only has the Business RDS hifi, with 6 CD changer. To my ears this system totally lacks bass.

Do any members in the UK know if you can fit a subwoofer to this system? Or possibly recommend a good fitter?

Apart from this, very pleased with the car BTW.

Had a friend of mine install an uprated alarm and in car stereo in his Mercedes from Prestige Car Audio of Rayners Lane (near Harrow) Middx. He was delighted and apparently they are also authorised by Mercedes (GB) to subcontract such work. Sadly, I don't know if there is a similat arrangement with BMW-UK but you could give them a call and ask. Also, I didn't get the number for Prestige but try 192 for this. Good luck and do post your experience once you've had it done. I would suggest that a dealer would only subcontract the work anyway and charge you a hefty profit.
