I get AF - Air fuel adaptation on CYl 5-8 when checked with peake tool, is this related to a fautly MAF sensor?

thanks in advance for your input

it can be. Have you already cleared it and has it returned? You could also try swapping mafs right to left and see if the code follows it. one last thing is to try the mafs test as outlined by member DavidS (i think that's in the faqs)

good advice. Also, it may end up being a pre-cat oxygen sensor which requires replacement.

i do actually get the pre cat oxygen sensor error too. i guess i should change it first and try and see if this error comes back again. the oxygen sensor error has come back a few times now.

There's a report somewhere that 'fuel control' codes can be triggered by a tired pre-cat sensor. I'm guessing that 'fuel control' can refer to both direct delivery of fuel (injector/fuel pump), as well as a confused ECU due to a lazy pre-cat sensor.
