Supersprint vs dinan headers

Pulling the trigger on a set off headers

I was ready to go ahead with the dinan headers but i cant see me spending 10,000 installed for a little hp the supersprint set up is about 5 grand installed

Heres a video of the new m5 racing a full s2 m5 (maybe a repost but ....)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=kD_igxA7F0k

that car has about $16,000 more than mine in mods = headers and throttle bodies , Velocity stacks and the new m5 works it !

Ive raced new m5s and did quite well

but the video is a little discouraging especially for 16,000 dollars on top of the mods i have

Ummmm.........

If you're worried about new "M"'s, 'might as well go to S3. You'll have no problem with new "M"'s then. You live in New York?? Go to Motor Works West in N. Jersey. They'll fix you up. What the hell, it's only money.

No problem at all. Lots of Board members have test driven my car, or Martin's (owner of Board sponsor All German Auto). Just lemme know when you're coming to San Diego area; I'll even arrange for you to get the famous "Martin ride" in an S3 on a nice curvey rural road, driven by a true pro. Martin's most recent "victim" was Gustav when visiting here last August, who still can't stop talking about it (and posting his vid) LOL

you cant really compare the two header systems.......

As the Dinan is the 4 to 2 to 1 design and the SS headers are the 4 to 1 design. Apples to Oranges.

,
Not really, it is simply a slightly different design.

As you know 4-2-1 gives better low and midrange torque, while 4-1 gives better top end. I suspect that either header will yield -about- 30 whp, but the power curve may be a little different. I doubt the subtle difference could be determined without a dyno.

So, the potential buyer needs to consider the different design and the very different pricing, about $3k vs. about $8k. In my mind, this is a very valid comparison. Not like comparing, say, a new Accord with an E39 M5!
Regards,
Jerry

The white M5 Steve Dinan's personal car and that is Chris Chandler (head of engineering and race dept) driving.

That E60 is not stock. It has exhaust, throttle bodies, lightweight wheels and 3.91 gears. so dont be too worried as that is a fast E60 with one hell of a driver.
