Just to comment on the dinan headers. I have them and when I swapped my tranny i took a minute to look in the collector. We were all impressed. They are the nicest set of headers i have ever seen. The fabrication and fitment is perfect on the inside and out. i have never seen the SS ones in person but I know for a fact the dinan are super nice.

I've been all the way throught this with the headers. I will post a link to a thread I did last year. Anyway, Burns Stainless is the absolute exhaust master and makes collectors for everyone who is anyone in the hp world. I talked to him about the topic and he made it clear that there is a tremendous difference in the design of the headers and that the Dinan headers were perfectly researched and designed for maximum performance on the E39 M5. After being educated on the topic, I stuck with the SS. If I did it over again, i would go Dinan S2 all the way, but I have gone down another patch, or track I should say.......

I remember that thread. You were engaged in a debate with somebody about the relative quality of SS vs Dinan headers. 'Recall (I think) Burns Stainless is owned by a relative of yours (or a relative works there). Anyway, after insisting SS was just as good for 1/2 the $$, you called them and learned they worked with Dinan on the E39 M5 header design; and they told you there was a significant difference in both quality and performance. You re-entered the thread and disclosed what you had learned (very gracious of you).

Did I recall correctly??
